Bylaw enforcement FAQ

Please contact Saanich Bylaw Enforcement at 250-475-5456 to investigate and we will contact Public Works to handle clean-up.

I have seen dumping of household refuse in a street litter bin, observed loose material being deposited on the street, or objects such as rocks or other items being placed on the street, boulevard, or road allowance.

I have a concern regarding items being sold on a municipal street; such as flowers, sea food or other products.

I have a concern regarding sight line issues causing a visual obstruction to vehicle or pedestrian traffic or observed damage to a pedestrian sidewalk, street or other infrastructure.

I have a concern with snow or ice remaining on a sidewalk fronting a specific property.

I have a concern regarding commercial vehicles not complying with the Truck Route Bylaw, or commercial vehicles parking overnight on a municipal street.

I have a concern regarding general noise from a residence or commercial business, such as occupants having noisy parties, construction noise, or noise which is disturbing the peace, rest and enjoyment of the neighbourhood.

If the noise is occurring during evening or weekend hours please contact the Saanich Police non-emergency number at 250-475-4321, or if the noise is occurring Monday-Friday during normal working hours please contact Bylaw Enforcement at 250-475-5456.
